Fourth Mission: Camera Flash Experiment

Yesterday I reenacted The Camera Flash Experiment. As always, I did it by myself.

For this mission, I created a "flash" from my camera-phone, by taking a "flash" photo off the Williamsburg bridge. Obviously, I couldn't document the taking of the photo, as my camera was occupied at the time. So, here is the picture I took:

The picture was taken towards the south, so, if you look carefully, you can see the Manhattan Bridge on the right.

I never know exactly how the missions are going to work out, but I do know that they will always be an adventure. This mission was different for me in many ways. Most noticeably was the fact that I did not have much direct interaction with the audience. In fact, I can’t even be sure that anyone even saw the flash. But I can hope that at least a few folks driving or taking the train across the Manhattan Bridge, living in a downtown apartment, or walking home in the rain looked up at the right time and saw something spectacular.

Third Mission: Human Mirror

A solo recreation of the Human Mirror mission.

I got on the train to Union Square with a plan: sit in one of the seats and look at my reflection in the window. If anyone asked me what was going on, I'd claim not to notice anything unusual.

Second Mission: Hug Patrol

For my second solo mission, I reenacted Improv Everywhere's Hug Patrol. Just like the original mission, mine was staged. Here's me and my roommate after he won his hug:

I asked my roommate if he would do me a small favor, let me take a picture of us hugging. He said okay, and I walked us over to our front door. I made sure to take the picture while we hugged. The Hug Patrol mission treaded the line between heartfelt earnestness and overwhelming cheesiness.
Highlights:

* Him telling me "this is so stupid" after I explained it.

First Mission: Frozen Grand Central

The idea for this project came yesterday, when I found myself in Grand Central Station for the first time since Improv Everywhere's Frozen Grand Central mission. I froze in place and took a picture to document the event:
